Visual Art

The Bates Middle School performance and visual arts program is proud to provide a strong visual arts program in both fine and digital arts media. Students will develop experiences in drawing, painting, digital imaging, and be introduced to computer graphics programs, fine arts and digital vocabulary; as well as, basic concepts in design. Focus is on creating artwork in various formats. Individual experience will serve as the basis for solving visual arts problems based on personal criteria. Students will develop skills for creating visual arts while also developing 20th century skills. The visual arts program is a highly intense and rigorous program that is dedicated to creating the next generation of visual artists and problem solvers.
